This world shall pass

and all that goes on here shall pass too

the little boys of today

will become grey haired tomorrow

the flowers that adorn the garden today

will perish too

the caravans shall pass

as they ain’t meant to stay

everything that exists

and all that we see

is intoxicated with the wine of change

but a lover’s heart never changes

although the sea reaches the sands everyday

to erase the footsteps of those who part their ways

but the tides don’t touch

the impressions made on the heart

the way someone makes you feel

stays in your memory till the last sigh

while the body gets busy with the daily chores

the heart spends its days similarly

remembering the love every moment

singing the songs

and dreaming for unison

wind and words

It was a cloudy morning. I set out for climbing a mountain. Weather was good and when i reached the top; i was panting. The view was so beautiful that i admitted that the toil was worth it. After a while, I took out a paper and started scribbling on it. The words rhymed and it assumed the shape of a poem. It took me a few minutes to finish it. I put down the paper aside and leaned back inhaling the fresh air deep in my lungs that were not familiar to such freshness.


A strong wind spurted out from the north and took my paper with it as i helplessly watched it flying and rolling down the steep.

I felt the milieu laughing at me. With the amused look of a child who wins back his toy from an intruder.

The beautiful surrounding that made me write the poem seemed appeased on taking it’s secrets, back from my hand.

Now the paper would rot in the branches of a tall pine tree. The sun and rain would wash away the story that i wrote.

albeit: she danced, albeit she didn’t know how to dance.

firmament: The pond near my house, mirrors the firmament in moonlight.

vintage: Though he wasn’t feeling well, he played piano in his vintage style.

astound: your abilities astound me.

dietetics: Being excessively cautious regarding food choices, he opted to study dietetics.

incorrigible: Don’t waste your time on him, he’s incorrigible.
