This world shall pass

and all that goes on here shall pass too

the little boys of today

will become grey haired tomorrow

the flowers that adorn the garden today

will perish too

the caravans shall pass

as they ain’t meant to stay

everything that exists

and all that we see

is intoxicated with the wine of change

but a lover’s heart never changes

although the sea reaches the sands everyday

to erase the footsteps of those who part their ways

but the tides don’t touch

the impressions made on the heart

the way someone makes you feel

stays in your memory till the last sigh

while the body gets busy with the daily chores

the heart spends its days similarly

remembering the love every moment

singing the songs

and dreaming for unison

This world is an interesting place. All the things around us, even our feelings are relative to certain standards. Beauty, kindness, wealth or anything that we perceive is relative to our previous knowledge about them.

A few days back i visited a valley surrounded by low altitude rocky mountains. There was nothing special  except the tale that Alexander of Macedonia took his last breath at that place and some parts of his body are buried there. Rocks stretched across the valley and a sleek road moved on their belly like a long grey snake. Shepherds were monitoring their cattle and doves cooed on the transmission lines. Calm prevailed in the air and finches flew from one keekar tree to another, indifferent to the historical importance of the place as they don’t have to attend schools where teachers make sure to stuff each and every student’s mind; with all the unnecessary information that they consider important. There were some cute butterflies kissing the dry blades of grass; busy in an unending chase. In the west, rocks opened into a vast gate of sand stretching to the upside-down wave of mountains. Sun was hanging a few inches above that brown wave. I sat on the sand and watched the yellow disc gradually disappearing behind the distant mountains. Angels hurried down from the heavens and covered the sky with an amethyst sheet.
