The variety of events occuring around the globe make this world an interesting place to observe. Different parts of world are inhabited by distinct races with there unique approach towards life and matters related to it. Thus it’s obvious that certain things that are considered normal in a society would surprise the audience in another part of world however the basic human instinct remains same everywhere. Though the way these instincts are triggered in a particular individual may vary a lot in each case. I wonder that when every religion and law abiding society advocates the rule of law and respect for all fellow human beings then why this world is full of chaos, greed and sufferings? There must be something wrong in our instinct.
Today when technology has made it easy to travel and communicate with each other, the modern world became a global village but still there is a big part of world which lies out with its totally different way of life. The people in many parts of world are unaware of their basic rights and they pay the price by living a low standard life despite of the numerous possibilities to access food, education and health fascilities; while their so called leaders swallow the cream from top of the milk to satiate their avaricious desires, usurping the share of their fellow beings. That makes me think that there is a global village which is developed and connected where people have access to the boons that it promises and there are other worlds that exist under the dark shadows of usurpers.
Here i would like to mention how life in those worlds is like because i consider the readers of this post as the privileged ones who have access to basic necessities, regardless of their geographic locations. Hence the ideas of sleeping hungry at night because there is no food available at home and unavailability of life saving drugs are as foreign to them as the idea of elephants playing football on moon, getting targeted by a drone missile because you were also present near a place where an accused terrorist is hiding according to intelligence reports of some God damn agency, to live on a piece of disputed land where every newborn comes in to world as someone’s enemy, to work as bulls all their lives to meet ends meet and accepting it as God’s will, to accept mistreatment as fate, to receive humiliation and discrimination in every walk of life are the everyday sufferings of the people living in the worlds that exist simultaneously along the Global village. These shameful happenings mar our claims of living in an enlightened world. Our love for peace, equality and justice appears fake when we limit it to particular boundaries.
Interestingly these differences can be leveled, and the solution isn’t exotic. Hardships of mankind would vanish if we decide that we have to share the opportunities with rest of our fellow human beings regardless of color and race. The hatred would die if we’ll extend our hands to help each other in need. For instance, spending the billions of dollars on development of under-privilleged parts of world instead of using them to make weapons of mass destruction can prove to be a first step towards a heaven on earth.
May the fake pride of power and strength perish and a new culture of common success prevail. This may sound trivial but what’s bad in trying a peaceful solution to achieve global harmony.
